File Digitisation of the Ministry of Higher Education:
Traditionally, the Ministry of Higher Education has been keeping physical files in cabinets/rooms where they are stored in an orderly manner for retrieval when needed. However, it is now vital to use available technology to keep the files in digital formats to enhance reliability, security, safety, and easy retrieval when needed.
With four major sections functioning under the Ministry; Loan and Scholarship Section, Policy and Planning Section, Administration Section, Finance and Budget Section, it is imperative that solutions be sought to modernise the management of the administrative functions of the ministry for better service delivery.
Within this context, the overall objective of this project is to focus on scanning physical files, keeping the files in a drive with proper naming and re-arranging the physical files back as before.
Consultancy for development and implementation of a Higher Education Management Information System:
At present Ministry of Higher Education has been maintaining collected data in simple MS Excel based programs by defining data fields and creating multiple files to serve the purpose.
The main objective of undertaking this project is to establish a comprehensive Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS) for timely, effective and efficient collection, processing and reporting of data/information needed for decisions, programme development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The system is expected to help develop a culture of information based decision, programming and follow-up actions.
