School-Based Therapists
Provide assistance and guidance to develop skills (language, communication, and motor skills) among existing teachers within 18 atolls. The objective is to train specialist teachers to work with special needs children while also assisting with early identification and interventions.
Disability Survey:
The study will identify what needs to be done to ensure rights of PWDs and will help in monitoring the quality and outcomes of policies for PWDs. This study will develop a national disability registry to facilitate evidencebased policy interventions.
Strengthening Women’s Development Committees (A Pilot Project in Dhaalu Atoll):
The main aim of this intervention is to propose an institutional framework for WDCs to function within the local governance structure.
This project will support capacity building and mentoring of WDCs of Dhaalu atoll to enable them to better fulfil their mandate and to strengthen the role of women in leadership roles in their communities. This will enable better resource allocation, thereby enhancing economic empowerment and public participation.
